The works from the series, “the Haunting” came out of a residency in Oatlands, Tasmania, in 2024, supported with funding through Country Arts SA and the Midlands city Council of Tasmania. During my residency created work in and around the historic buildings of Tasmania, after researching colonial history that had been documented and held in public archives. I felt strongly the sense of unspoken and unresolved histories that refused to leave, and this led me to the idea of haunting- spectral figures that inhabit places of trauma- goals, courthouses and cells. I also created the character of the trickster- a rambunctious trickster of history who pulls back the layers of time to reveal what is still waiting to be heard.

The video, “Tricking Through Time” was presented during SALA 2024 as a projection on the external walls of the Port Piere Regional Gallery SA.
